Socks! You are intrigued, but intimidated. No more - this two part class will walk you through every step of the sock knitting process. You will work with worsted weight yarn so that you are not learning on tiny tiny needles - and will be making the child size in class - it's a faster knit! You will leave this class knowing all the basics of socks: decreases, picking up stitches, turning a heel. Sock success!
Skills needed: you must know how to cast on, knit, and purl.
Materials: 200 yards of worsted weight wool or wool blend yarn (sample knit out of Liberty Wool, you would need two balls to knit a pair of socks), size 5 and size 3 DPNS, stitch markers, tapestry needle, copy of the free pattern from Ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rye-4
